Two days practical learning
Designing Soundscape for Sustainable Urban Development was all about soundscape, urban planning and sustainability. In two days it tought how soundscape planning and design promotes urban environments of high acoustic quality and improved quality of life. The interactive programme included plenary lectures on recent scientific findings in soundscape and urban planning, and field trips to experience locations in Stockholm.
The main part of the conference was organised in 3 sessions of 5 parallel workshops exploring opportunities and best practices in:
- Urban recreational areas
- Urban open spaces
- Urban and regional planning
- Mobility management
- Residential areas and housing
The purpose of the workshops was to provide inspiration and to examine how we may implement soundscape in urban planning and design in Europe.
